How To Make Money May Not Be Your Ultimate Goal

I think that most people would agree that the people who have goals have more success in teaching themselves how to make money than those who play the weekly lottery and hope that money will find them. Now your task is determining which one of these people you want to be. If you want to set goals and not just rely on blind faith, keep reading.

When setting goals, I refer to both leadership and management. Leadership involves doing the right things, while management is about doing things right. Often when we study time management, we study doing things correctly, but make the assumption that we are doing the right things. However, the latter is not always the case.

The first step which you should take once you have determine how to make money online is working on your goals. I have devised the following four step process which I highly recommend that you adopt when setting your goals.

Step 1

Get a blank piece of paper. At the top of the paper, write down the title "values". For the next fifteen minutes, I want you to write down everything in this world which you value. If having money is one of your values, do not shy away from writing this down.

Step 2

On the top of a separate blank piece of paper, write down "lifetime goals". Here you are encouraged to think big. For instance, where would you like to live? Where would you visit if money and time were not an object? What do you want to make sure that you experience in your lifetime? Is your lifetime goal to teach yourself how to make money? There are no limitations here. Write all of your lifetime goals down.

Step 3

On the top of a separate blank piece of paper, write down what you would do if you only had six months to live. Do not take this lightly, as some of us may only have six months to live, but do not know it yet. I have lost some friends who appeared to be completely healthy six month prior to their deaths. Therefore, you should list every single thing that you would do if you only had six months to live.

The purpose of this step is to put a focus on what is truly important in your life. Often times when I conduct this exercise, I find myself listing things which are not in my lifetime goals.

Step 4

On the top of a separate blank piece of paper, write down your goals for this year. After doing the first three steps, you will find this step much easier than the others. These are the goals to focus on right now.

I wrote this article to help you to put things in perspective. Many people are fixated on discovering how to make money, and their goals focus on these things. While it is true that those who are goal oriented are more likely to be doing things right when it comes to how to make money, it is not necessarily true that they are doing things right to make their lives better.

Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
