How To Make Money By Advertising Cost Effectively
Did you make it your New Year's Resolution to determine how to make money in 2010? If so, you are probably going to need some advertising. I can hear you collectively saying that you do not have money to advertise. As a result, I am writing this article.
If you keep reading, you will learn how to get the most bang for your buck when it comes to spending your advertising dollars.
1. Negotiation
Do you know someone who always seems to get the best deals? While you and everyone else are paying full price, they seem to always pay less. Do you know why this is the case? It is because they asked for a discount, and made it clear their making a sale was contingent upon their receiving that discount.
Thus, prior to purchasing your advertising, make sure that you negotiate the best price. If you are negotiating placing your banner on the page of a high traffic blog owner, just keep in mind that if you pay them 50% of what they are asking, you are paying them more than they would receive if the banner space were vacant for a month. That adds up over the month. Your job is to remind the blogger that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush, without actually coming out and saying it.
Remember, how to make money is a blood relative of how to save money. They both have the same last name, and increase your profit margin.
2. Elimination
The bigger the ad the better right? Actually, this statement is incorrect. When it comes to advertising, often times short ads outperform larger, more expensive ads. Elimination of size does not mean that you will be eliminating results.
3. Exploitation
Do you know the difference between advertising and publicity? The difference comes down to who is doing the talking. Selling on your own is called advertising. However, when someone else is selling you, it is publicity. If said publicity generates credibility and interest, then you do not want to miss out on this.
Come up with ways to get your business into the spotlight. Is something new coming up regarding your company? If so, write a press release. Write some "how to" articles with a short byline at the end and release them to ezines, magazines, newspapers, and other publishers. Also, there is nothing harmful in promoting the product of a non-competitor in return for them promoting your product. Just think of the market they have access to which you do not. This is a mutually beneficial situation which will show both of you how to make money beyond your specific markets.
4. Promotion
Do you have an offer which is too good to refuse? Well if you do not, you need to improve the offer. This does not mean doling out rock bottom prices to anyone who visits your website. Rather, you just need to make the offer a little more attractive. This can be done by increasing the reader's knowledge of how the product helps him or her. Otherwise, you can add bonuses which are perceived as valuable, but cost you very little.
Motivate buyers with expiring offers. If you leave your offer open, procrastination will ensue. For instance, I went looking at computers back in August of 2009, just to price shop. However, while I was price shopping, I saw that there was a "Back To School" sale on the computer which I am currently typing on which ended that day. I ended up saving $200 on that August day.
Just remember that when doing the things necessary so that you can determine how to make money, advertising does not have to empty your bank account to be effective. When you learn to negotiate, know when smaller ads are as effective as large ads, ask for discounts, and create an irresistible offer, you are on your way to sending your profit margins sky-high.
Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
