It goes without saying that if you are trying to figure out how to make money with your website, you should take a long look at search engine optimization (SEO). As you can see, I underline, and sometimes bold or italicize my key phrase throughout my articles. Hopefully my throwing the phrase, "how to make money" throughout the article is not throwing the message off. Did you see how I just did that?
2. Web Site URL
Your website’s URL can help you rank higher with the search engines if it contains your keywords. In this article, I am using a search engine friendly extension with the phrase, "how to make money" in my URL, since my domain name does not contain the key phrase. Therefore, it is not always necessary to use your keyword in your domain.
3. Search Terms
Search terms should be written out in text, instead of graphics. Why you ask? Because the search engines cannot read graphics. Therefore, they are irrelevant to your search engine rankings. If you use pictures, be sure to give them alt tags with your keywords or key phrases. These things may seem petty, however, if you want a good rank in search engines, you need to make them a priority because someone else is using these techniques.
4. Page Title
This is a biggie. Look at my page title. You can see that I use the term how to make money right in the title. The title of your page is very important. If you choose the title correctly, it can do nothing but to help your search engine rankings. The titles themselves are very specific to the page and also may not have much competition being as specific as they are. For example, each article on my website has a unique title. Well, at least for the most part. Just keep in mind that the title area is the most important place to include your keyword phrases, so make sure that you utilize it.
