Do Not Start Your Article Marketing Campaign Until You Do This
So you have figured out some ideas of how to make money, and you are about to kick off your article marketing campaign. Furthermore, you have identified some of the best article submission directories for which to promote your articles. Ready, set, not so fast.
Take a step back, and make sure that you have taken the following steps.
1. Is your article as attractive as it can possibly be?
You must make sure that you article is formatted so that is is easy to read. Make sure that your article is composed of short paragraphs or bullet points, with a lot of white space in between.
2. Keep it clean.
Have you checked for mistakes such as spelling and grammatical errors. If your articles have a lot of mistakes, they will be more difficult to read, and you will lose credibility. Although someone in your house may question your sanity if they do not know what you are doing, read your articles back to yourself out loud. You will be amazed at how many mistakes you can discover with this method.
3. Make it useful.
Your articles should offer useful tips and solutions to problems which people in your niche may come across. Make sure that you highlight the subject matter of your article early. You can do this in the headline and summary. Do not turn your article into a commercial for your product(s) or service(s). Rather, sell yourself, your expertise on the subject, your information, and your experience. In the long run, you will gain far more exposure for your business by highlighting your knowledge.
4. Be brief.
Experts have determined that the ideal article length is between 250-500 words long. If you find that you cannot effectively convey the subject matter of your article in so few words, consider breaking the article down into, "Part 1" and "Part 2". If a shorter article can perform as well as a longer article, why not spend time writing more shorter articles?
5. Create a "resource box" on your article.
A resource box is a short paragraph which contains your name, your business' name, a short tagline, and a link to your website. Keep this as short and concise as possible, and remember to include your call to action.
6. Start your article with a summary.
Many article directories will require that you initially summarize your article so it is best to have this prepared from the outset. Keep it short and too the point. You can generally summarize your article in a few sentences.
7. List your tags
Most directories will ask that you tag your articles with keywords and/or key phrases. Similar to a summary, make sure that you have these prepared before you begin your submissions.
Now that you have completed these steps, you are ready to begin submitting your articles. Completing these steps prior to beginning the article submitting process will save time, and reduce stress. Remember that you are focusing on how to make money through traffic generation. The more tasks which you can have in place at the outset, the better.
Zero Cost. Zero Obligation.
