How To Make Money - Paid Surveys Are Sticky
if you have been searching for how to make money, chances are that you may have found ads that tout "make up to $75 an hour in your spare time", and links take you to various sites, all having something to do with filling out online surveys that promise huge returns.
Is there such a thing? Yes. There are real companies that are in the marketing and advertising business and which are hired by large firms to work closely with consumers in order to get feedback on various products and services. And, yes, these survey companies do pay money to consumers who have registered with them.
But, even so, you won't be making anything near the kind of money these ads promised. Many surveys pay less than a dollar. Very few pay over $5.00, and these have a finite number of people they want to respond. If you get an email saying the survey is available, you probably won't qualify and certainly won't be paid.
Many places don't pay money; they make you accumulate points. In order to exchange your points for anything worthwhile, you'll need 10-20,000 points, and this can take over a year, doing surveys almost day. When you want to cash in points, it's disappointing - no pun intended. For 15,000 points, one well known survey company offers pages of outdated, useless merchandise such as one children's book, a set of crayons, a dog collar that reflects light, or a set of plastic bowls. Each items sells for under $5 at Walmart.
One of the major drawbacks to doing these surveys is that you need to qualify for each one. Once you find companies to register with you will then start getting emails depending on your profile. For instance, if you are a 35 year old single white female with an income over $80,000 a year, you'll one type of survey. If you are an unemployed male over 60 with no post high school education, you'll get different surveys. It could be weeks between getting surveys to even try to qualify for.
It also takes a long time to get paid. You might finally have enough money to cash out with one of these companies, and it frequently takes two months before you see a check. This is not dependable income, and if you are still in the early stages of your search for how to make money, I suggest that you search elsewhere.
